Sun rays are very harmful to our skin as they can penetrate deep inside our skin and can damage our skin cells. Too much exposure to ultraviolet or UV rays can cause sunburn, sun tan or even it can cause skin cancer. You can protect yourself from harmful sunrays by limiting your total exposure time or you can cover up sensitive areas by taking dupattas but the best way is to use sunscreen. It includes active ingredients that help prevent the sun rays from reaching your skin and protect it from any damage. Apply a generous amount of it on the part of a body that is exposed to the sun and re-apply it after 4-5 hours. It is important to choose a sunscreen according to your skin type like if you have an oily skin type try to find one which has a light-weight and non-greasy formula but if you have a dry skin type go for a creamy textured one.
The skin has a natural process of building new cells and removing older ones. These dead cells settle on the top layer of skin and need to remove for the new cells to come out. One of the best ways to remove dead skin cells is exfoliation. It is the safest way to improve skin health and the visual appearance of your skin. It helps in removing dirt, oil, and dead skin cells from your skin and prevents them to sink into your pores in the form of stubborn whiteheads and blackheads. It also helps in increasing blood circulation and provides oxygen to each and every small cell helping them to develop faster which ultimately makes our skin glowy and radiant.
- Take a Healthy Diet:
Having a healthy meal not only boosts your immune system but also works great in making your skin clear. By taking antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables, healthy fats from nuts and fish provide nutrition that is important for radiant skin. Fruits and leafy vegetables are the best sources of vitamin C, A, and E and minerals which protect your skin from damage and have vital nutrients for DNA repair and help in producing and maintaining new cells. It helps in the formation of skin fibers which reduce the chance of having pimples, brown spots, pigmentation, and wrinkles.
- Stay hydrated:
About 70% of the human adult body is made up of water. It gets dehydrated in sweating when you go outside or doing a couple of exercises so our body requires more water intake to do its work properly. Many people often report that by increasing their water intake, their skin has a more radiant glow. Actually drinking more water helps in flushing out all the toxins from the body and increases the blood flow to the skin. Drinking atleast 8 glasses of water a day keeps your body hydrated and making it healthy and naturally glowy.
- Don’t smoke:
We all are familiar with the fact that smoking is injurious to health. Not only to health it is injurious to our skin also. It contains nicotine with the regular intake of it narrows the blood vessels of the outermost layer of the skin due to which our skin does not get enough oxygen for cells to grow and make our skin looking aged and lifeless.
- Beauty sleep is best:
Research proves that 7-8 hours of beauty sleep heals our body from the inside. It gives an extra boost to repair our cells and tissues. Skin makes new collagen when you sleep. Collagen is a type of protein that is the main building block for your bones, skin, hair, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. More collagen means the skin is plumper and less likely to wrinkle age spots and gives you younger-looking skin.
No matter how busy schedule you have give some time for yourself and do regular exercise. It helps in getting the heart rate up and improving blood circulation which delivers oxygen and necessary nutrients to the skin, increases collagen production, and promote new skin cells which keep the skin healthy and is also helpful in anti-aging.
Our skin is the most sensitive part of the body especially the skin on our face as it is easily affected by small environmental changes. It sheds cells more rapidly than other parts of the body and thus needs more moisture to repair itself. Moisturizing is an important step for our skin to look healthy and supple whether you have oily skin type or dry skin type you must moisturize your skin. It provides hydration to our skin and reduces the chance of extreme dryness and oiliness as both can cause breakouts also by applying moisturizer on daily basis reduces the risk of having wrinkles at an early age.
- Remove makeup before
Our skin heals faster at bedtime because blood circulation increases during sleep and more oxygen reach the cells which help in repairing skin cells. Falling asleep with makeup on can leads to premature aging as the products that we use on daily basis contain harmful chemicals which are not good for the skin if used for a long time. These products set onto the skin and get sink into pores and block them which causes skin irritation, pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads and does not allow the skin to breathe.
- Never touch your face with dirty hands:
Touching your face is one of the habits that can be difficult to leave behind but it is one of the reasons that cause many skin problems. Touching your face again and again is like transferring the dirt and bacteria from our hands to the face which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. It is recommended to touch your face with your hands only when they are clean.
